Dinosaur Birthday Party

Invitations

I bought Dinosaur eggs through Oriental Trading Co.  They have small dinosaur inside them.  I then made the invitation (below) and rolled them up and placed them inside the egg with the dinosaur picture hanging out.

Goody Bags

I ordered the dinosaur assortment, dinosaur eggs and dinosaur temperary tattoos though Oriental Trading Co.  I printed coloring pages from The Land Before Time and placed them in the bag, also.   For the bag itself, I used brown lunch bags and cut out a dinosaur picture (below) and glued it on the bag and wrote the kids name in "prehistoric" letters.

Cake

Make your favorite sheet with either grease and waxed paper in the bottom of the pan or grease and flour your pan really well.  After it has cooled in the pan for 10 minutes, loosen the cake edge for the pan and invert on a rack.  Remove waxed paper and cool completely.  Make a pattern of the dinosaur out of waxed paper then place it on top of your sheet cake and cut out the cake.  It is easier to cut and frost the cake if it is placed in the freezer for about an hour or two.  Assemble the cake on a cake board with piece B for the head and C for the tail.  Place waxed paper around the edge of the cake so the frosting won't get on the board.  Tint vanilla frosting with green food color and frost the cake.  Use a tic-tac for the eye and we put M&M's on for spots as requested by Ryan.

Games

Dinosaur egg hunt ~ I bought Dinosaur eggs through Oriental Trading Co and hid them all through the house (you can do it outside if it is a nice day!) while they were eating cake.  After they finished I let them get their wiggles out by running around the house finding the eggs.  We then played Longneck, longneck, sharp tooth (our version of Duck, Duck, Goose).

Decorations

I purchased The Land Before Time plates, cups, table cloth and streamers from Birthdayexpress.com.  I got a tank of helium for BJ's Wholesale and tied the balloons to toy dinosaurs and placed them on the table.

To Do List Goody Bag Invitation

You may want to save the above papers to your computer then open them in your photo editor.  You can add your own text.  When you print the stationary, to do list, tablet and invitation you will need to go to print preview then center it and fit to page.
