Games

Play a game of Blue's Clues, of course.  Go to Nickjr.com and print out some paw prints to place on the clues.  While you are there, print out some coloring pages for the kids to color.  They also have a print and cut handy dandy notebook to make each kids.  If the kids are too young to draw their own clues, you can draw them on post-it notes (one for each child) so they can just peel them off and put them in their notebook.

Goody Bags

Blue's clues stickers, a small notebook and some colors.  Put them all in a red pail.  Include a shovel, also.

Hats

Dog ears out of blue felt

Cut one strip of blue felt for each child 2 inch wide and 24 inch long for headbands.    With tracing paper make a pattern from thin poster board.  Cut 2 ears out of blue felt for each child.  Fold a pleat in each ear and staple two to the inside of each headband.  The ears should drop over the top of the band.  Paint dark blue spots on ears and headband.  Allow drying for 24 hours. Wrap the felt band around head and staple two ends together in the back.  Should be a 3 to 4 inch overlap.

Ears are 6 inches across and 7 inches long.  Pleats are 2 inches in from each side.

Decorations

Lots of blue balloons.  You can order plates, cups, napkin and some wall decorations through birthdayexpress.com.  You can make blue paw prints and hang them on the walls.  If it is nice outside, you can take blue chalk and draw paw prints leading up to the house.
